Due to the world wide impact of the COVID-19 virus the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will now be in in July-August 2021.
The 2020 Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo and feature 339 events across 33 sports and 53 disciplines.
Four new sports will be introduced in Tokyo - Karate, Skateboarding, Sport Climbing and Surfing, as well as the return of Baseball and Softball to the Olympic Program. Additionally, sports already on the program will introduce fifteen new events. Some of the inclusions are; 3x3 basketball, freestyle BMX, Madison cycling, and new mixed events in several sports.
The 2020 Olympic Games will take place over 19 days from 23 July to 8 August 2021 and will include approximately 11,091 athletes, representing 206 National Olympic Committees.
