Matt Bugg named 2016 Tasmanian Athlete of the Year

Congratulations to sailor Matt Bugg who was crowned the 2016 Southern Cross Television Tasmanian Athlete of the Year.

Matt had an outstanding year in which he consistently posted outstanding results on the world stage. The highlight was winning silver at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He also won a silver medal at the ISAF World Cup and bronze medals at the Delta Lloyd 2.4 multi World Championships and IFDS World Championships.

Matt was selected from a high quality field of finalists - Amy Cure (cycling), Deon Kenzie (athletics), Matthew Phillips (enduro motocross) and Richie Porte (cycling).
