A National Training Centre program conducted by the Tasmanian Institute of Sport in partnership with Athletics Australia and Athletics Tasmania.

Program:

The program is an integral part of Athletics Australia’s High Performance Program and will provide leadership and direction to Tasmania’s elite and emerging elite and their coaches. It will assist the development of coaching in Tasmania and enhance the performance of Tasmanian athletics within the National Program. A significant focus will be on developing athletes with input into programs developed in partnership with Athletics Tasmania.

The program will provide scholarship athletes with a full range of support services such as, physical preparation support, access to sports science/ sports medicine, athlete career and education and opportunities for national and international competition.

Location:

The TIS Track and Field State Performance Coordinator is based at the Silverdome Complex in Launceston, but works with athletes and their coaches around the State.

Scholarship Year:

The TIS squad will be offered a 12-month scholarship covering the period 1 July to the 30 June each year.
