Sarah is highly committed to her coaching and the development of the next generation of players at club and state level. Sarah is co-coach of the OHA Women’s Premier League team and the head coach of the Tasmanian State Under 21 Women’s team. In Sarah’s first year with the OHA Women, Sarah was able to take the team from the bottom of the ladder to a grand final birth. Under Sarah’s guidance, the OHA women have remained a finals contender during her current tenure.

Sarah has had a successful playing career, representing Tasmanian at all levels junior through to senior and fortunate to be surrounded by such experienced and supportive coaches. This is what led Sarah to take up coaching.

Sarah thrives on the ability to impart knowledge and enjoys being able to lead and inspire. Sarah continues to identify opportunities to advance her coaching knowledge with her key learning focus being to enhance her ability to make technical and tactical changes throughout a match.

The opportunities offered to Sarah so far while taking part in the WSRT/TIS coaching scholarship have been extremely valuable and opened new networks and experiences for her. Sarah has accessed opportunities recently with Hockey Australia’s National Futures program and is involved with the TIS Hockey Program working closely with head coach, Tim Strapp.

Sarah holds a Level 2 Hockey Australia coaching accreditation.
