The Tasmanian Sporting Hall of Fame recognises and celebrates Tasmania’s sporting heritage.
It honours outstanding Tasmanians who have represented their State and nation with distinction and ensures their sporting achievements receive recognition.
There are 135 athletes from a broad range of sports who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame, including swimmers, jockeys, Australian Rules Football legends and sporting all-rounders.
Nominations for the Tasmanian Sporting Hall of Fame are open from 1 July - 13 August 2021.
To be considered a person must meet the following criteria:
No distinction is made between amateurs and professionals or males and females.
Nominations can be made for athletes from any period of time. However, evidence will be required of their achievements with suitable records.
Individuals considered for induction have, typically, represented Australia with a medal-winning or equivalent outstanding performance in their sport.
Nominations will be considered by the Tasmanian Sporting Hall of Fame judging panel. Nominators will be advised of the outcome of their nomination. The judges’ decisions are final and no communication will be entered into regarding the judging of the nominations.
When preparing a nomination please provide as much detail as possible about the sportspersons performances. Supporting documentation is welcome.
No late nominations will be accepted.
