Libby has been involved in coaching field hockey for over 30 years throughout Australia, as well as coaching overseas including the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Libby is an accredited Federation International Hockey (FIH) Level 2 Coach and is currently completing her FIH Level 3 Coaching certificate.

Libby loves to collaborate and has dual Spanish Olympic gold medal coach Max Caldas, as well as our Head Hockey Coach Tim Strapp as her mentors.

Libby has played high level hockey herself for many years including playing in the Australian, Dutch and English National Hockey Leagues and additionally, has represented Australia playing for the Australian Women’s University Hockey Team and continues to play in the Women’s Masters competition in Hobart.

Libby places a strong emphasis on kindness, respect, fairness and approachability in all aspects of her coaching and communication.

Her goals are to be a high-performance coach in Tasmania and specialise in the junior high-performance pathway in the state. Libby intends to coach both female and male teams at any level in the state in the future aiming to develop as a coach at the senior state level and be a role model for the hockey community.

  • Contributed to a new Selection Policy to help the selectors identify player talent for State Team selections

  • Co-Coached U18 Girls 2023
  • Coached Second Grade Women’s Team 2023
  • Coached Various Masters and Second Grade Club Women’s Teams 2015-2023
