Women in Sport Coaching Scholarship

Football (Soccer)

Chelsea has played football (soccer) since the age of seven and began coaching in 2021 at the age of 17. She has represented Tasmania as both a player in the U19 State Team in 2021 and as an Assistant Coach at the 2022 and 2023 National Youth Championships. Chelsea also gained experience as a Technical Director for a Tasmanian National Premier League Club.

Chelsea currently has a full-time position with Football Tasmania as a Development Officer coaching in Football Tasmania’s Talent Support Program and State Team programs, as well has having a strong presence in community-based programs like Football in Schools and Holiday Clinics run by Football Tasmania.

Whilst still pursuing her own playing career, Chelsea has a strong focus on helping young athletes become better footballers through coaching and mentoring the athletes she works with. For Chelsea this is the most rewarding part of her job and what she enjoys most.

Chelsea has been very grateful to learn from industry experts in nutrition, exercise and sport science and elite coaches in their own sport through her Women in Sport Coaching Scholarship. Chelsea looks forward to continuing to build these relationships through the scholarship program and enhancing her knowledge even further.

Chelsea holds an AFC B Diploma Coaching qualification and has completed the Football Australia Coach Education Tutor which approves Chelsea to deliver Mini Roos and The Foundation of Football as a Coach Education Tutor.
