Deb is a dedicated and highly experienced Level 2 AFL coach with experience in coaching male and female athletes, from both the junior and senior areas, gaining strong community connections at both levels across the state.

Deb has recently completed the AFL Recruiting & Developing Talent Course and is the current State Women’s Coach.

Deb is a driven and dedicated coach with a philosophy of self-development and empowerment through sport, relating sporting analogies to life skills. Deb enjoys developing athlete confidence through skill acquisition and overcoming challenges and identifying and supporting individual player progression whilst encouraging a strong team ethos to support player development on and off the field.

Deb has recently toured states of the USA where she had insight with College DIV1 Basketball senior coaches and players. This provided Deb with an opportunity to be involved with their programs including trainings, facilities, and live games.

With recent contact with the VFLW and AFLW programs, Deb is always seeking new opportunities to enhance her coaching expertise and engages in continuous education. As a life learner, Deb is happy and willing to share her knowledge gained from various learnings to the coaching community.

Some of Debs achievements include:

  • AFL Tasmania Coach of the year in 2016
  • First Female Assistant in the TSL Men’s Football Competition
  • Coaching the recent Tasmanian State Women’s team against Queensland
  • Completing the recent AFL Tasmania Women in Leadership Program 2023
  • Head Coach Tasmania AFL Women’s Representative Team 2023-24
  • AFLW Women’s Advisory Panel – TFC 2023-24
