Georgia Baker is a world‑class cyclist who emerged through the Tasmanian Institute of Sport talent pathway after being identified during testing at her primary school. Since then, she has built a decorated international career across both track and road, marked by versatility, endurance, and major championship success.
Georgia’s progression includes winning Gold in the Team Pursuit and Silver in the Madison at the 2019 UCI World Track Championships alongside fellow Tasmanian Amy Cure. The pair also teamed up to claim Silver in the Madison.
Glasgow will be Georgia's third Commonwealth Games, having competed at the 2018 Gold Coast and 2022 Birmingham Games. In Birmingham, Georgia won Gold in the Teams Pursuit, Points Race and the Road Race.
Later in 2022, Georgia helped Australia to win a bronze medal in the mixed relay team time trial at the UCI World Championships in Wollongong. At the 2023 World Championships Georgia won two silver medals in the Points Race and teaming up with Alexandra Manly in the Madison.
She made her third Olympic Games appearance in track cycling at Paris 2024, where she finished fifth in the omnium, seventh in the team pursuit, and ninth in the Madison with Alexandra Manly.
